VOICE OF COMPASSION (VOC)

Catholics throughout the Diocese are asked to directly contribute to the Annual Bishop’s Appeal. In the light of the scandal caused by priestly sexual abuse and the cover-up by our bishops, many Catholics question whether they should do so. VOTF recognizes the importance of continuing to provide funds to maintain our schools, hospitals, soup kitchens, and other charitable and educational organizations throughout the Diocese.

VOTF in the Diocese of Bridgeport has established the Voice of Compassion Fund to be administered by VOTF members in an annual grants process. Annually one hundred percent of funds solicited and collected are distributed to grant recipients, organizations that are dedicated to serve the poor and needy.

Contributions to the VOC fund are tax deductible. Participation on the Granting Committee is invited annually from interested members. Funds are distributed in March at the Annual Conference of VOTF where representatives of each program have an opportunity to share a sense of their purpose and service on behalf of the needy. Grants will be announced on this website.

Contributions may be made to this fund at any time during the year by sending a check to VOTF-Bridgeport, P.O. Box 5044, Westport, CT 06881.  Please note Voice of Compassion in the ‘remarks’ space. An annual solicitation letter is mailed in the fall.

Voice of the Faithful in the Diocese of Bridgeport is a 501(c)3 organization.
